ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
Anti-wrinkle injections or commonly known as Botox, is a purified toxin from Clostridium Botulinum bacteria*

How does it work?
- Restricts/Blocks the muscle contractions and sweat production
- Non permanent, effects do wear off with time
What is it used for?
- Most commonly used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles
(eg. Frown lines and crows feet) for a younger & fresher look.
- Other uses include Teeth grinding (bruxism), migraines, severe under arm sweating
How is the procedure done?
- Small amounts of the toxin are injected directly into the muscles
- Procedure takes 20-30min
- Doesn’t require any anesthetic
- You can go back to work immediately, no down time needed
- It takes roughly 7-14 days to see the full effect
- Effects last between 3-6 months (patient dependent)
It is overall quite safe but possible side effects include:
- Mild pain/ swelling around injection sites
- Bruising
- Headache
- Eyelid drooping: rare, resolves with time
How much does it cost?
- Prices depend on area being treated and amount of toxin required
Note:
Production of toxin does involve growing bacteria using a number of animal derived (porcine and non porcine) components. However, the toxin then undergoes purification steps so that all the animal derived components are eliminated in the final product. In other words, the final toxin that is injected into the skin does not contain animal products.
DERMAL FILLERS
Dermal Fillers is a soft injectable gel made from Hyaluronic acid (HA). It closely resembles the HA found in our bodies. HA binds water to improve hydration and add volume to the skin.

What is it used for?
- Add fullness to areas of the face that have thinned out from aging
- Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles
- Smooth skin, youthful appearance
Areas that can be treated?
- Cheeks
- Lips
- Around the mouth
- Around the eyes
How is it done?
- Skin is anaesthetised with a topical numbing cream.
- Injections of filler are made directly into the area being treated.
- Results can be seen immediately, although full effect can be seen after 2-4 weeks.
- Lasts between 6-12 months (patient and area dependent).
Possible side effects?
More Common: Mild bruising/swelling of the area
Rare: Lumps/granulomas. Infection. Injection into a blood vessel
